Atmosphere is an American hip hop group from Minneapolis, Minnesota. The members are rapper Slug (born Sean Daley, September 7, 1972) and DJ/producer Ant (born Anthony Davis), former member and Co-founder Spawn (born Derek Turner), who left the group after the release of "Overcast!". Active in various forms since 1993, they are one of the most commercially successful and long-lived independent hip hop artists. The three main members of the group are the MC, Slug, and the producer Ant. With the exception of Overcast! and Lucy Ford, Ant has produced every Atmosphere record. Spawn (Derek Jordan) was a member of Atmosphere, but left the group following the release of Overcast!. He is now known as Rek The Heavyweight. Becca Larson was an off-and-on touring DJ for Atmosphere prior to You Can't Imagine How Much Fun We're Having tour, when Ant began touring, though he was never a full member of the group. He is now the DJ for hip hop artist EL-P.
