Dokken is an American heavy metal and hard rock band that was formed in 1978. The group accumulated numerous charting singles and selling more than 10 million albums worldwide. While the band became associated with bands like Mötley Crüe, Ratt, Quiet Riot and Cinderella their traditional style never set them apart or gained them much notoriety outside of the "hair" metal style. Though some have insisted that Dokken produced an image that was somewhat "glam," the band insists that its music, due largely to the style of guitarist George Lynch, was traditionally heavy with technical expertise, and the band relied much less on a "glam" image than later glam metal bands such as Poison and Warrant, focusing more on the musical aspect.   Wikipedia
