Michael Gordon Oldfield (born 15 May 1953 in Reading, Berkshire) is an English multi-instrumentalist musician and composer, working a style that blends progressive rock, folk, ethnic or world music, classical music, electronic music, New Age and more recently dance. His music is often elaborate and complex in nature. He is best known for his hit 1973 album Tubular Bells, which broke new ground as an instrumental concept album and launched Virgin Records, and for his 1983 hit single "Moonlight Shadow". Wikipedia

(music and lyrics by Mike Oldfield sung by Cara Dillon, Heather Burnett) You're the one who's nearly breaking my heart. Had your chance, you just threw it all away. Living in a world that you could never be a part of And never time to walk away. | | ( Chorus ) | You can't stay, no, you can't stay. You're no loser, there's still time to ride that train And you must be on your way tonight. Think anew right through, you're a man in the rain. | | What's the use in hanging round these walls. Lamps are burning, but nobody's at home. There's a new day dawning as a cold rain falls And now's the time to walk alone. | | ( Repeat Chorus ) | | How's it feel when there's time to remember? Branches bare, like the trees in November. | Had it all, threw it all away. Now's the time to walk away. | | ( Repeat Chorus ) | How's it feel when there's time to remember? Branches bare, like the trees in November. | | How's it feel when there's time to remember? Branches bare, like the trees in November. | | ( Repeat Chorus ) | | Threw it all away, threw it all away And now's the time to walk away. | | ( Repeat Chorus ) |

Mike Oldfield was the first artist signed by Virgin records and has always been at the top of what ever form he wishes. Yes, I to used to only like Heavy Metal but grew up and Mike was part of that transformation. And once and a while I'll listen to the meatal as well but not as much as days of yor. I dedicate Mike Oldfield's album Songs of the Distant Earth to my dearest brother RAPHAEL ANDREAS whose untimely death at the tender age of 24 years old in his appartment in Geneva shocked us deeply. Sweetheart Raphael I miss you more than words can describe and I long to be with you.
