Sonic Syndicate is a Melodic Death Metal band from Falkenberg, Sweden. They are influenced by other Swedish melodic death metal bands such as In Flames and Soilwork. Sonic Syndicate started off as power metal band "Tunes of Silence". The members of Tunes of Silence eventually decided to disband in order to focus on various other aspects of music. "Fallen Angels" was created in 2002 out of a few members from Tunes of Silence and included a completely revamped line-up, Richard as the lead singer and Roger and Robin Sjunnesson as guitarists, keyboardist Andreas Mårtensson, bassist Magnus Svensson and drummer Kristoffer Backlund. Under the name Fallen Angels, they recorded three demos, Fall From Heaven, Black Lotus, and Extinction before signing with Pivotal Rockordings in 2005. Black Lotus spawned a music video for the track Soulstone Splinter even though the track never made it as a single. Afterward, bassist Karin Axelsson replaced Svensson in 2004 before the band changed its name to Sonic Syndicate and recorded their debut studio album, Eden Fire.
