Tamer Hosny (Arabic: ???? ????‎; born in Cairo, on August 16, 1977) is an Egyptian singer, actor, lyricist, and composer. He was initially featured on Free Mix mixtapes from Free Music, an Egyptian music production company. His breakthrough single "Habibi Wenta B'eed" ("Sweetheart, When You're Far Away") gave him success. Hosny's father is Egyptian and his mother is Syrian, but she has spent her life in Egypt. She brought up Hosny and his elder brother Hossam in the absence of their father, Hosny Sherif. Tamer Hosny grew up with a passion for soccer and played it professionally for nine years. He was recognized by Nasr Mahrous, manager and owner of Free Music. He later on signed a contract with Free Music in 2002. Hosny didn't debut with Sherine's first mixtape. Instead he was featured in previous mixtapes with artists like Khaled Agag and Mohamed Mounir. He graduated from October Six University with a Bachelor's degree in Media Studies.
