Todd Harry Rundgren (born June 22, 1948) is an American musician, singer-songwriter and record producer. Rundgren was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania He began his career in Woody's Truck Stop, a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based group based on the model of Paul Butterfield Blues Band. However, he left the band to form the garage rock group Nazz in 1967. The group gained minor recognition with the songs "Open My Eyes" and "Hello It's Me" (#41 Canada). (He later recorded a solo, uptempo version of "Hello It's Me"; it became a Top Ten hit and remains one of his signature songs (#17 Canada)). Nazz released three albums during this time - Nazz (1968), Nazz Nazz (1969), and Nazz III (1970).

I saw todd when I was 16 in 76 at the Houston astrodome free Hurricane concert.. with wings ... he opened with synth music and the curtains opened he alone was setting in a stage full of pillows, meditating. then after a while began to sing.. It was awsome. I had never heard of him. Now I will never forget!!
