Yomo (born Jose Alberto Torres Aberu in Chicago, Illinois) was raised in the barrio of Tres Puntos, Humacao, Puerto Rico. Before becoming a professional artist, he used to work as a handyman on Puerto Rico's Palmas del Mar Beach. Yomo was born Jose Alberto Torres Abreu on June 17, 1981 in Chicago. He was raised in Tres Puntos Barrio in Humacao Puerto Rico. He is the youngest of three kids. Yomo is the father of 3 kids of two different women. His first wife was Gloria and mother of his first child Jovan Alberto who was born on July 28, 1998. His second wife was Jainel Ayala and mother of his two youngest kids Mia Nikole (born on April 21, 2006) and Ayan Alberto (born on April 4, 2007). Yomo dedicated his whole CD "My Destiny" to his ex-wife Jainel which now lives in Miami, Florida. While Don Omar and Daddy Yankee were crossing over into the pop international hits Reggaetón Latino and Gasolina, respectively, Yomo was still developing in reggaeton breeding ground. He first started to work with Master Joe & O.G. Black and appeared in their cd Sabotage. His first taste of success came in the form of the hot single '"Déjale Caer To' El Peso"', which charted on the music charts and in 2009 with his hit "Descara", which became a hit in the U.S & the Carribean.
